What were the main themes of the book? How well did the author execute these themes? The main themes were personal strength and how well we accept someone who is different from us.
Describe 2 different settings or locations. One - Ethelred's reflections. "The prophecies speak of a time when poison will spread ..." This reader felt the danger and almost worried for the characters.
Two - The jet-black horses on the bridge which Alex and Etienne were riding. I really liked the author's descriptions.
Were you able to connect with the main character and why? Mostly yes, although this is a fantasy book, their feeling of wanting to be accepted are the same as how many of us feel.
Which did you find more appealing, the introduction or the conclusion? The introduction. I think the author spent more time introducing the characters and showing us their different sides. I liked the build up.
Why would you recommend or not recommend this book? Yes, I will definitely recommend this book.
Disclosure - I received a free book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
